Davy Lowston
During reading time today the "Brilliant Butterflies" read a non fiction story about Davy Lowston, who wrote New Zealand's oldest folk song.

If you click on the link, you can hear the song he wrote. He couldn't read or write, and he was stranded on an island. See what you think, and leave a comment!
Awesome Tom Gates Website
Today during reading time Aya found this awesome website while she was researching Tom Gates.
Tom Gates is her Character Book Assignment character, and she used her research findings to design a business card for Tom Gates.
