My drummer toy is a robot that drums.
My drummer robot works on batteries. The batteries power the motor which spins a wheel with yellow squares on it. The wheels squares hit the drummer sticks which come down with incredible force.
The drummer sticks can bang on tin cans, plastic bottles/containers, books, wooden boxes, and cardboard objects. The drummer is coloured yellow, blue, and whitey grey.
It is special because it can drum automatically and loudly. It is also special because it can work anywhere in the world.

Garden to Table - Tuesday June 13
Rooms 1 and 2 are needing helpers for the June 13 Garden to Table sessions. Room 2 start at 9am and Room 1 start at 11.40. Pease let Hayley and Jenny know if you can help.

The goal of the competition is to build the smallest egg
catching device that can successfully catch an egg.
The event will be held at 12.45pm on
Monday 12th June outside Rm 13
Rules.
1.
Participants will build an egg
catching device that will prevent an egg from breaking when it is dropped into
the device from a height of one storey.
2.
The egg catcher shall be constructed
from only these materials: wood, cardboard, plastic, fabric, metal, and paper.
Tape or glue may be used to secure pieces of the device. Where possible
recycled materials are to be used.
3.
All other materials, including Styrofoam,
anything glass (including fiberglass), any food or food ingredient, all powders
(sand, flour, baby powder) and liquids (including water), pastes or gels that
stay wet are prohibited. Materials that are engineered for cushioning effects
(i.e. foam, pillow stuffing etc.) do not serve the spirit of the event, and
therefore will not be allowed.
4.
The maximum size of the egg catcher
shall be 20 cm in three perpendicular dimensions (i.e. the egg catcher should
fit inside a 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm box).
5.
Contestants will be responsible for
dropping the egg into the device from the specified drop zone.
6.
Contestants are responsible for
providing their own uncooked, uncoated egg.
7.
In the case of more than one egg catching device being
successful, the device with the smallest vertical height will be the winner.
8.
To help keep our school clean, we
ask that devices that have “egg on their faces” (i.e. the egg broke in them) be
placed in the rubbish bags provided at the competition.

Cheese Taste Testing for our Inquiry
Today at Inquiry time we discussed how cheese is made. We made cottage cheese (paneer, curd) at Garden to Table on Tuesday, and shared our thoughts on how this process is similar to making normal cheese. This video helped us learn how cheese is made and matured in a factory.
