 Public Art campaign are running a competition for young artists to have their work produced for public display, in Hagley park.  There are 2 categories you'd be in the Re:Activate Kids for Yrs 1-8.

Take a look at last year's winner - 7 year old Georg Lewis had his art on display in the Re:Start Mall

If you're interested take a look at the link to read what you need to do - there's not much time initial concepts have to be submitted by 7th July.

Grass to Glass Inquiry - Smoothie and Ice Cream making next week

Dear Discoverers and whanau,

Grass to Glass Inquiry Culmination!

Next week the Discoverer 1 Pod are going to be making their smoothies / ice cream / cheese, which they have been researching this term.

A letter will be sent home to parents tomorrow (Friday 16 June) with the ingredients / equipment your child has decided they will bring to assist their group in making their wonderful creation. The day and time they will be making their creation will be listed on the letter as well.

To make it a success, we will need a parent helper for each group. Please let us know if you can help at any of the following times next week:

Tuesday 9am - 10am

Tuesday 1.30pm - 2.45pm

Wednesday 9am - 10am

SMS Lip Sync Battle 2017

Dear Discoverers,

The Lip Sync Battle has begun!

This Monday is the heats.

At the heats we will be voting to choose two acts/performers to go through to the Syndicate Semi-finals, which are on Thursday afternoon at Syndicate Assembly.

If you have signed up for the Lipsync Battle, please make sure you have your routine / costume / props at school ready for Monday's heats!

Discoverers 1 Pod Lipsync heats: Monday 19 June
Discoverers 1 and 2 Semi-finals: Thursday 22 June
Whole School Lipsync finals:   TBC

Milk Taste Testing

Sausage Sizzle this Wednesday!

Hi Everyone,

There is a sausage sizzle on this Wednesday, to raise money for SMS playground equipment. Sausages are $2, and will need to be ordered tomorrow (Tuesday) in class.

Sausages will be delivered to Rooms 1&2 shortly before lunchtime.

Send $2 (or $4 for two sausages) along with your child on Tuesday if they wish to purchase a sausage for Wednesday.
