Khan Academy

Is your child super keen to do maths at home? Or, feel like you want some maths tips? I recommend Khan Academy. He really explains how to do all sorts of maths really well, and is suitable for both children and adults :-)

Discoverers' Newsletter Term 3

Room 1 Calendar Art

This year we are creating Kandinsky circles for our
calendars, note cards, mouse pads and diary covers.
The art work will be available for you to see
before you buy in Room 1.
Here are a couple of examples
(they are brighter than this).

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This term we are creating underwater creatures for our Performing Arts Inquiry unit.  At the end of Term 3 we will present our work in a whole school show.

We are currently at the planning stage which is student directed.  Following is a list of items that we require to complete our projects.  If you have anything unloved or unused at home, may we please have it?

Green fabric
String
Wall paper paste
Chicken wire
Bubble wrap
Tissue paper
Any colour tinsel
Cellophane
Orange or blue fabric
Balloons big, medium and long skinny ones

If any parents, caregivers or grandparents are available from 10 am on Fridays, we would welcome some extra help to create our creatures!

Thank you.

Tina from the World of Wearable Art's visit

We were very lucky to have Finn's Aunty Tina come in and talk
to us about her 2018 first place achieving design for the
World of Wearable Arts.
Tina's inspiration came from the Poodle Moth below.

She gave us many helpful tips for our performing arts creations and left us some wonderful cut offs to use as well.
Thank you Tina, we look forward to seeing your future designs.

Jonah and Daisy

Hello!

I just thought I would send out this hopeful note:
If anyone has any hay they would be happy to sell to me for the rabbits, that would be wonderful!

Kat's Great Multiplication Book

Here is another great book to help your child learn their times tables, skip counting and to understand and practise arrays.
Thank you to Kat for sharing it with us.
