Discoverer's 1 Science Lesson

Today Discoverer's 1 in Raupō were lucky to have a visit from Mr John Grave, a university and high school teacher from Montana, USA.  Mr Grave is Sebastian and Evelyn Low's grandfather.
First of all, he asked the students what they thought a deer would need to survive in the wilderness.  After agreeing that they need water, food and shelter, (limiting factors) he showed us a game where one group of students were the necessities of life for the deer, and the 2nd group were the deer.
Mr Grave noted the variables in each game and the students were then asked to plot the variables on a line or bar graph.
We had a great time learning today and hope Mr Grave will come back and visit us again next year.
